Project Overview
The Hartzer Building is thoughtfully designed for girls and features a vibrant dance studio 💃, full-sized gymnasium 🏀, and flexible classrooms 📚. Every space supports learning, wellbeing, and connection—creating a place where students feel confident, comfortable and inspired .
As a dynamic hub for sport, learning, assemblies and community events, Hartzer fosters teamwork, resilience and social connection. Its link to outdoor courts encourages movement and reinforces the importance of wellbeing in a modern, girl-centred education 🏃♀️.
Stage 1 delivered a purpose-built facility including:
‒ Full-size gymnasium with retractable seating
‒ Changerooms and amenities
‒ General learning areas
‒ Staff office
‒ Dance studio with specialist flooring
‒ Equipment storage
‒ Circulation space
‒ Plant and service areas
To support the functionality and performance of the facility, the project also included comprehensive building services by Secon Consulting Engineers, providing:
🔧 Mechanical systems – energy-efficient HVAC for year-round comfort
💡 Electrical services – modern lighting, power infrastructure and energy management systems
📡 Electronic systems – AV, security, and communication technologies to support learning and events
🚰 Hydraulic services – efficient water supply, drainage and plumbing systems
🔥 Fire protection systems – designed in full compliance with safety regulations, including sprinklers and alarms
Together, these services ensure a safe, smart, and sustainable environment, enabling the Hartzer Building to operate efficiently while meeting the evolving needs of students and staff.
