Project Overview

Winner of the Australian Hotels Association National Awards for Excellence 2011.  The Cremorne Hotel – Best Bar Presentation and Services (Metropolitan).

The redevelopment of the existing hotel including demolition of the Unley Road street frontage building (including wet areas, gaming and smoking areas), removal of internal load-bearing walls and creation of new openings, demolition of part of the existing bar, new amenity facilities to the dining, gaming and lounge areas, extension of the rear bottle shop for the provision of a larger shop and new keg store, new outdoor beer garden area and front entry and a new service delivery area.

Some of the mechanical air conditioning systems were replaced with roof mounted packaged units to suit the new internal layouts, but some the existing systems were assessed to be suitable for re-use and were retained to keep capital to a minimum.

Acoustic attenuation was specified where necessary to reduce the overall noise levels of some of the mechanical equipment both internally and external to the hotel. Economy cycle operation, or ‘free cooling’, in conjunction with outside air monitoring was incorporated to reduce the overall running cost of the mechanical systems.
