Project Overview
Winner of the Civic Trust Award, Australian Housing Institute Award for Professional Excellence, Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) award for excellence in high density housing.
The existing Afton House consisted of a heritage listed set of residential buildings fronting South Terrace in the Adelaide CBD that had been allowed to run down.
It has now been renovated into this multi-award winning building, consisting of a multistory 3-level building with passenger lift access, housing over 90 apartments with private on site car parking facilities. It sets the benchmark for affordable housing for those less privileged in our community.
At Afton House the air conditioning control systems have been designed to not allow air conditioning operation if outdoor conditions are suitable to open windows.
